DeWana Falks Joins The Preiss Company as Director of Student Housing Operations
New hire looks to effectively manage company’s current portfolio and ensure successful growth
[USPRwire, Tue Jan 13 2009] The Preiss Company (“TPCO”), the largest provider of off-campus student housing at North Carolina State University, Clemson University, Auburn University in Alabama, and the University of Texas in Austin and the second largest provider at UNC Charlotte, has announced that DeWana Falks will be responsible for the financial and physical management of the company’s student housing portfolio. In her role, Falks will manage the site Property Managers and Assistant Managers, develop property Standard Operating Procedures to increase rent postings and improve invoice reviews, and reduce maintenance, utilities, and transition costs through improved quality-control and inventory standards.
Falks brings over 20 years’ of property management experience and expertise to her position. Prior to joining TPCO, Falks’ expansive career included positions at Stokes-McCaleb and Fort Development out of Jacksonville, FL; ConAM in Houston, TX; Place Properties in Gainesville, FL and Atlanta, GA; and most recently, Campus Advantage in Austin, TX. In her last position, she was responsible for overseeing a portfolio of seven on/off-campus student-housing communities comprised of 5,000 beds.

Falks obtained her Florida Real Estate License in 1991. She served on the Gainesville Apartment Association board and was a speaker at the National Apartment Association Student Housing conference.
