Car Rentals, Taxis and Bikes, Oh My! The Best Ways to Explore Aruba
From Harleys to car rentals, the right mode of transportation is waiting to help you explore Aruba.
[USPRwire, Mon Mar 25 2013] Are you going to have beach vacation in Aruba? Visitors to Aruba are pleased to find excellent and reliable modes of transportation to aid them in exploring the island. From car rentals to public buses, there are numerous options to help tourists begin their adventure.
"Discovering our island is quick and easy – it just depends on what best suits your personality," says Matthew Smillie, owner of Aruba Villa Rentals Vacation Homes. "For adventurers, there are Harley or ATV rentals, and for more traditional transportation, our bus service to and from downtown is reliable, and best of all, inexpensive."
Bus service runs between the districts and hotel areas. Round trip fare to downtown costs around two dollars. Buses run every 20 minutes from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and every hour from 6 p.m. to midnight, Monday through Saturday.
"The island is small and roads are in good condition, so touring by motorcycle or scooter is a wonderful way to see the island's unique landscape and get the most out of the pleasant climate," says Smillie, whose company specializes in helping tourists find the perfect affordable rentals.
Tourists can rent a motorcycle or scooter for the day. All tourists need is a valid driver's license. Scooters normally cost $40 per day and motorcycles $70 to $120 a day. For the tourist who wants to go hog wild, Harleys can be rented for $150 per day.
For the even more adventurous tourist, renting a four-wheel drive Jeep or ATV will allow them to visit the rougher terrains of Aruba.
For the traditionalist, cars can be rented at the airport, or can be delivered directly to visitors' vacation beach houses. Valid U.S., British, Australian, and Canadian driver's licenses are honored by the major car rental companies.
Taxis are an option for visitors who don't want to worry about driving themselves. Taxis in Aruba are non-metered with fixed rates instead. Every taxi will have a copy of the rate schedule.
No matter what type of adventure tourists are planning, getting around the island won't be a problem. From friendly taxis to reliable buses to scooters, the right option is just a phone call away.
