[USPRwire, Thu Sep 28 2006] In light of the recent controversy surrounding former President Bill Clinton’s comments to Chris Wallace on Fox News, 2008 Presidential Candidate Daniel Imperato spoke about the facts surrounding the Clinton administration’s history on terror.
“I stand up to the people of the United States and the rest of the world to address what I believe was one of the worst downfalls in our country’s history and some of the worst words that have ever come out of our past President Bill Clinton. While listening to the television interview with Wild Bill, I saw a very aggressive attitude towards demoralizing our administration and leader President George W. Bush pertaining to the Bin Laden hunt.”
One of Clinton’s main assertions during the Wallace interview was that he tried to get Bin Laden while the Bush administration has failed to do so. Imperato suggested that other things were on Clinton’s mind than capturing Bin Laden.
“First of all, Clinton should be ashamed of himself for stating that he tried and Bush didn’t. While he was busy with Lewinsky, he forgot about the Laden, because he was confused with his L, and forgot the difference between the importance of the Lewinsky scandal and Bin Laden.”
“President Bill Clinton, you owe the Americans an apology for your inappropriate activity in the Oval Office and your call out to the American people that you tried to eliminate Bin Laden. This is completely inappropriate, misleading, and untrue.”
Imperato also pointed out that Clinton failed to attack against Bin Laden after the first World Trade Center bombing of 1993, Clinton’s first year in office.
“Clinton allowed Omar Abdel-Rahman to blow up the basement of the towers the first time and then did nothing about it until he got caught with his finger in the cookie jar and a cigar in his pocket. The cigar that caused so much trouble turns out to be the thought of two long range missiles that were sent to hit Kenya and Afghanistan. While looking at the cigar he thought of the missiles and sent two. That’s all.”
In addition, Imperato stated that the Bush administration has done more to fight Osama Bin Laden.
“I would like the American people to know that at least our President, George W. Bush sent a barrage of missiles and a complete fleet. While I do not agree with all of the diplomacy that our administration has deployed, or its approach, I can tell you that Bill Clinton skinnied out and George W. Bush flexed his muscle.
“Just think if somebody threw a punch at you and destroyed your infrastructure like your teeth or your eye, would you forget about it, or retaliate like Bin Laden did? The worse mistake in the history of terrorism was made by Bill Clinton when he failed to get Bin Laden and make no mistake about it. While I have respect for Bill Clinton, I have no respect and no tolerance for what he didn’t do in the White House and Oval Office and no respect for the way he handled Bin Laden and terrorism.”
Imperato closed his remarks with the following, “As the next president of the United States in 2008, I promise the people of the United States and people of the world that diplomacy will be used strategically and equitably in the right manner with the right force. With diplomacy we can eliminate acts of terror and those who perform them so that we are not in the position that we are in today. Bin Laden should have been stopped during the Clinton administration instead of Lewinsky being fondled, leaving Bush to wipe up the mess. With respect to the American people, God bless all of you.”
