Songwriters and music publishers may soon have a new way to make money thanks to the formation of DataRevenue.Org
[USPRwire, Mon May 04 2009] DataRevenue.Org, a non-profit organization in California, is seeking the collection of royalties whenever copyrighted materials are used in mobile2mobile data transfer.
In a lengthy interview available on the Music Industry Newswire, the head of the organization, Max Davis, explains many of the details of how the new revenue stream would work.
The interview, conducted by John Scott G, covers such details as data optimization and tracking, examples of current business practices in the mobile2mobile community, the size and scope of the growing industry, and the petitions filed by DataRevenue.Org with both the Federal Communications Commission and the Copyright Royalty Board.

DataRevenue. Org seeks to establish accountability and data revenue sharing for its members in an emerging and measurable new marketplace, namely multi-media messaging, (mms), and beyond. "The mobile space is huge," notes Davis, "and is essentially connecting more human beings than at any time in history. Plus, it's doing so in real time," he points out. "As large as this space already is, it still has tremendous growth potential in the form of data infrastructure, data applications and data products. If you have a vested interest in content of any kind you will want to be a part of this movement," Davis adds.
