Getting The Low-down With Jace Everett

TheCelebrityCafe had that amazing opportunity to interview Jace Everett, who wrote and sings the theme song to the new hit show True Blood. Several interesting topics, including Everett’s music interests and opinions on entering the music industry were discussed during the interview.

[USPRwire, Wed Jun 16 2010] “I started to make up songs and pick up chicks, same reason as everyone else I guess. I actually started out playing bass and moved onto guitar,” Everett responds when asked why he started playing guitar. “It's kind of hard to front a band when you're playing bass, though, so I play less. I'm pretty busy right now so it's less frequent, a little here and there”.

Everett also discussed his past and current music interests. He talks about growing up listening to Willie Nelson, Elvis, and Waylon Jennings. He listens to all types of music in efforts to mix different genres and incorporate different styles and sounds of music. It is great to hear that this generation is still listening to older artists and keeping the classics alive, as well as mixing in new music from current artists.

Talk about how Everett’s first single is so different from his newest album was also brought up during this interview. He responded by talking about the fact that he is a different person than he was then. Now he is more mature, has his life figured out, and has a clearer head on his shoulders.

“If you're compelled to do it, and you sincerely want to make music, then go for it. Just know that you're going to have to work very, very hard,” answers Everett when he is asked if he has any advice for aspiring artists. “But if you're doing it to become a star, then you're doing it for the wrong reasons. You've really got to check your motivations”.
